This is a threaded piece of jewelry! On the back of each top there is a bit of threading (similar to a screw) and that will fit into threaded backing. For threaded tops, you just screw the top onto the base! Make sure you screw the two pieces together until they are flush. It is important to make sure you are buying a top that is the compatible gauge for the backing you have. 18g/16g are compatible with one another and 14g/12g are compatible with each other!
